Bob Benoit

Bob Benoit (born July 21, 1954 in Topeka, Kansas) was a professional bowler in the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) in the 1980s and 1990s. Over the course of his career, Benoit won 4 PBA titles.〔(PBA.com - Official site of the Professional Bowlers Association )〕 He is mostly known for being the first bowler to ever roll a perfect game in a televised title match,〔(Bob Benoit bowls 1st 300-pt game in a televised title match January 23 in History )〕 as well as the fifth PBA bowler to throw a televised perfect game overall. He accomplished this feat on January 23, 1988 in front of his home crowd in Grand Prairie, Texas at the Quaker State Open at the Forum Bowl bowling center, a place where Benoit bowled league during the eleven years in which he lived in Dallas. This was Benoit's first ever title, as well as his first appearance in a telecast. Benoit's opponent for this game was Mark Roth, who finished with a score of 255.
Bob has a brother named Rick who is still involved in the bowling business, working as a tour consultant for Brunswick.〔(BowlingFans.com: Rick Benoit's Expert Bowling Tips )〕
